Today's entry is about something simple--believing in yourself. It is dedicated to my good friend Ms. Savvy S. She has gone through her share of ups and downs over the past few years, but her triumphs are praise-worthy and she is a force to be reckoned with as she embarks on a new adventure in her career.
As the picture above states, you are your best investment. In case you didn't already know this, I have learned that if you believe in yourself, others will too (Ms. Savvy S is a perfect example of this philosophy at work). Whether it's about being a great parent, a great partner, a great friend, a great employee, a great boss, or a great person, the first step is having self-confidence. A recent article in the The Huffington Post provides 4 steps to help build your self-confidence so you can live your dreams. My advice is to look at yourself in the mirror everyday and be proud of what you see (saying some daily affirmations can't hurt, right?). I may be biased, but inside and out, you got it goin' on, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Invest the time and energy in taking care of yourself, set personal and/or professional goals and make it happen (and be patient, it may not happen overnight--if only I took this advice!). I am starting work on a new business myself, details to follow and fingers and toes crossed...(silently repeating Stuart Smalley's words to myself, I'm good enough, smart enough and doggone it people like me).
