Wow, it's been almost a month since my past post. I could give you my laundry list of reasons why my posts have been absent--stomach flu, AML jr's bday, tons of house guests, work, etc. but what's the point? I've been wanting to write, but I kept getting distracted--so many ideas but just couldn't find the time to type them out for you. Papa Lusty has also been encouraging me to write as of late and he's right--I miss this, I miss you. Whoooo I'm back!
So, here we are. It's mid-November, the Christmas music has arrived, the cold weather has arrived in some of your cities, the winter colds and flu have arrived, the urge to eat more and more has arrived, some of our family/friends are soon to arrive/we'll arrive in our hometowns soon for the holidays aaaaand big shopping deals have arrived. Amen for shopping deals! Unfortunately, a better economic situation, bonuses and raises (for most), and new jobs have yet to arrive...that's why these holiday sales are more important than ever.
In our home we have one year old AML jr to think about for holiday gifts and I can't wait to buy her stuff for Chanukah, but I'm hoping to find the best deals possible. I also want to buy Papa Lusty some gifts too. I'm wondering how long to hold out to get the best prices on clothing, toys, tech stuff, etc. With all the deals already out there, I wonder how much better the sales are going to get around Thanksgiving? And with an increasing number of stores opening up at 10pm on Thanksgiving, along with the lowest prices come the longest lines to shop and check out, is it worth it? Target is one of many stores opening at 10pm on Thanksgiving, which is making some people unhappy as it interrupts the holiday. And what about online shopping--some of the same deals/better and saves a ton of time and hassle, right?
This year I'm especially thankful for a fabulous daughter, husband, grandparents and dog, good health for me and my family, my family and friends in general, all the people and businesses who have supported small fry society aaaaaand I have to say earlier shopping hours and extra savings! After tucking AML jr into bed, I will be one of those shoppers on a mission at 10pm searching for phenomenal savings in lieu of sleep and that extra slice of pie. What's your plan? Shop now and save time and some money and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday (and that extra piece of pie), shop on Thanksgiving and spend more time but save more money, or skip shopping altogether?
This blog is for the enjoyment of parents and parents-to-be...or anyone who desires a dose of humor. This blog is about looking and feeling good on the inside and out. I will do my best to provide a valuable piece of advice, peace of mind or...a piece of cake (sometimes that’s all we need to feel better, right?). We do our best, and it's important to keep a sense of humor and support one another along the way which is what small fry society and bun in the oven bunch are all about.
